Virginia S. Fisher, 92 PORTLAND - Virginia S. Fisher, 92, passed away at the Barron Center on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015. Ginny was born in Portland on Jan. 29, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Johnson) Stockman. She lived in the Woodfords area and attended local schools. She graduated from Bates College in Lewiston. While attending Bates, Ginny met and later married Irving "Bud" Fisher. Together they raised three children in Lexington, Ky. Upon retirement Ginny and Bud returned full time to their home on Great Diamond Island. They enjoyed many happy years on the island and in Portland, where they were active in the Casco Bay Island Development Association, and the Great Diamond Island Association. Ginny was predeceased by her husband Bud in 2009. She is survived by her children Larry Fisher and his wife Abby, Beth Fisher and her four children, and Chuck Fisher; her brother Charles Stockman and his wife Nan; and two great-grandchildren The family would like to thank the Barron Center for their kind and capable care of Ginny. Interment services will be private. A celebration of life will take place on Great Diamond Island in the summer. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.athutchins.com
