PORTLAND - Phyllis M. Moulton, 100, of Portland, formerly of Waldoboro, died Jan. 4, 2019, in Portland at The Cedars. Phyllis was born June 28, 1918, in Waldoboro, to Avery Sidelinger and Audrey Mae (Castner) Sidelinger. She grew up in Waldoboro and graduated in the first class of the new Waldoboro High School. She married Robert Moulton in 1937 and later moved to Portland where she worked at B&M Baked Bean Co. from 1938 to 1945. She later worked as a leather stitcher for 22 years for Herman Shoe Factory and Stride Rite until she retired in 1985 at the age of 67.

After retiring, she worked part time at One City Center, John Martins Manor Inn and as a nanny. Phyllis was a woman of many talents and was known for crocheting "slippers", beautiful doilies, mittens, hats and scarves and making fruit cakes for Christmas presents. She was also an amazing seamstress.

She also enjoyed spending time at her camp on Highland Lake with her husband, Robert, working together in their garden canning vegetables and making wine. For the past twenty years, she enjoyed spending Christmas with her nephew, Gary and his wife, Maureen, and going for outings with them at Little Sebago every summer.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Moulton Sr. and by her son, Alvin Moulton.

She is survived by her son, Robert "Sonny" Moulton Jr. of Portland; her grandchildren: Ludger Moulton, Jeanine Moulton of Gorham, and Lisa Verthiem of Australia; her great-grandchildren: Jolee Mitchell, Ludger Mitchell, Jr., Nicole Mitchell and Patrick Smith.

She will be dearly missed by her nephew, Gary Sidelinger and his wife, Maureen of Cumberland, her great-nephews: Ben Sidelinger of Georgia, Andrew Sidelinger and his wife, Roma of Oregon, Brent Hamilton and his wife, Deana of Warren, Gregg Hamilton of Tennessee; her cousins in Maine, especially Bob Benner of Waldoboro; as well as her dear friends Tom and Liz Crane of Portland and many other friends in Portland.

Service will be held at Hall's Funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m., 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Burial will be in the Shuman Cemetery in Waldoboro.
