Marilyn P. Ernst, 86
MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - Marilyn P. Ernst "Lyn" (nee Percival) of Morris Plains, N.J., formerly of Millburn, N.J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at the age of 86.
Lyn was born in Portland to the late Jean and Robert Percival and was a graduate of Deering High School class of 1950.She had resided in Teaneck, N.J. prior to moving to Millburn, N.J., where she had resided for 40 years.
Lyn had a distinguished career as an interior designer. She was the owner of the Wallpaper Studio in Maplewood for many years before working as an interior designer for Bloomingdales in New York City and then Short Hills, N.J. Lyn was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and had been a longtime active member of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn.
Lyn is survived by her loving children, Steven Ernst of Washington, N.J., Lisa Ernst of New York, N.Y., Kim Norton of Neptune, N.J. and Scott (Denise) Ernst of Rockville Center, N.Y. She was the cherished grandmother of Madison, Austin, Carson, Tristan, Matthew, Connor and Kathryn and was predeceased by her brother Robert Percival. She also leaves behind her beloved cousin Sally Knight (nee Percival) of Westbrook and nieces Debrah (Thomas) Yale (nee Percival) of Boothbay and Tracey (Robert) Fogg (nee Percival) of South Portland.
The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, N.J., on Thursday, Jan 4, 2018 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Please visit for additional information and to send condolences. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
