Leatrice M. Morin, 86 OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- Leatrice M. Morin, 86, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at St. Andre's Healthcare in Biddeford. She was born Oct. 23, 1922 in Saco, a daughter of Niles and Rose Cartier Lundstrom. She went to Notre Dame School and graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1940. She also attended S.M.V.T.I. Earlier, Leatrice was employed by the City Clerk's Office in Saco for two years. She also worked for Saco Lowell Shops, Bates Manufacturing in Saco and New England Telephone Company in Biddeford for several years. On Nov. 16, 1946 she married her husband Arnold H. Morin. Later, from 1955 to 1972, she was employed by Snow Canning in Pine Point. During the mid 1970's she was State Representative for District 117. In 1985 she retired from S.M.V.T.I. in South Portland. Mrs. Morin was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Old Orchard Beach. She was a volunteer for meals on wheels and the visiting nurses. She was an avid bowler. She enjoyed walking on the beach, decorating cakes, making afghans, quilts and food for her extended family. She was known amongst her family as the family photographer. Mrs. Morin was a parishioner of St. Margaret's Church where she was a member of St. Margaret's Sodality and the church choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold H. Morin on August 17, 1982. She was also predeceased by one brother Stanton Lundstrom and by two sisters Pearl I. Amello and Alma Nelson. She is survived by one son, David S. Morin and his wife Kathy of Old Orchard Beach, one daughter, Kathleen Stryker and her husband George of Saco; six grandchildren, Sherri, Angela, Tamra, Kris, Jason and Eric; seven great-grandchildren; brother's and sister's in law; several nieces, nephews and devoted longtime neighbor and friend Marjorie Garon A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Monday at St. Margaret's Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care given by the staff of St. Andre's Healthcare Facility.
