Karen A. Langevin, 74
LIMINGTON - Karen A. Langevin, 74, died on Sept. 27, 2017, at her home in Limington.
She was born on July 27, 1943, to Omer and Clarine (Tebbetts) Bouthot, in Portland. She grew up in West Peru and Mexico, where she graduated from high school.
After high school, she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, which launched her lifelong career.
She was employed as a pediatric nurse in California for a few years, and then returned to work in Maine, where she held several various nursing positions. Before retiring, she was a coordinator for rehabilitation centers, where she was involved in social work, and aftercare for patients.
Karen married Sylvio Peter Langevin in 1968 and together they raised three children.
She enjoyed cooking, sea glass, jewelry and gardening; she loved flowers, decorating for holidays, and she liked to shop for her grandchildren and the people she loved.
Karen was Catholic and a communicant of St. Matthews Church in Limerick.
What was most important to her was her tight-knit family. She had many who loved her and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Sylvio Peter Langevin; a son, Matthew Langevin, of Standish; two daughters, Kristin Hayes, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and Suzanne Lane, of Dominion Valley, Va.; a brother, Steve Bouthot; and grandchildren, Samantha Langevin, Elizabeth Hayes, Anna Lynn Hayes, Emily Hayes, Genevieve Hayes and Collin Huckbody.
Friends and relatives are invited to a time of visitation Monday, Oct. 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Carll Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
