Joseph R. Wallace, 72
YARMOUTH - Joseph R. Wallace, 72, of Windham passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on Wednesday Aug. 1, 2018 at the Brentwood Nursing facility in Yarmouth. He was born on Oct. 8, 1945 in Portland, the son of Elmore and Grace Wallace of Westbrook. Joseph was educated in the Westbrook school system and made a home and raised his family in Windham.
Joseph spent many years working for SD Warren in Westbrook and as a Master Maine Guide. He was an avid outdoorsman and houndsman spending most of the fall season in the woods of Maine. He loved his family and friends and every moment he had with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Red Sox, playing cards, and being part of his children and grandchildren's lives. He spent many afternoons and weekends camped out at the fields watching them play ball and he especially loved spending time with his granddaughter, Lindsay.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents; brother, Rodney; and his sister, Nancy. He is survived by his three sons; Joseph Jr. of Gorham, Derik of Windham and Stephen of Saco; his niece, Suzanne; nine grandchildren: Damon, Blake, Colby, Lindsay, Bridgette, Chloe, Kailey, Ben and Cody; three great-grandchildren, Beckham, Owen and Ryker.
At Joseph's request there will be no funeral service or visiting hours at this time. A private service for his final resting place will be at a future date.
Arrangements are in the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 35 Church St., Westbrook. To express condolences or participate in Joseph's online tribute, please visit www.DolbyBlaisSegee.com.
