Irene E. (LaChance) DodgeB1935 - 2018BPORTLAND - Irene E. (LaChance) Dodge, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 27, 2018. Irene was born on Oct. 19, 1935 in Lille, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Annie LaChance.

Irene and her six siblings moved to the Portland area when she was five years old, attending Portland Schools, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1952. After Irene graduated from high school, she went on to marry the love of her life Clyde Dodge on Dec. 10, 1955, at St. Patrick's Church in Portland.

Irene was deeply loved by her large family and found them to be her greatest pleasure and treasure in life. In addition to her family, she enjoyed time with her close friends, playing mahjong as well as her beautiful flower garden she and Clyde created in their backyard and painting "Thomas Kinkade" like paintings. Irene is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband of 63 years, Clyde Dodge; their children, Stephen and Diane Dodge of St. Augustine, Fla., Selena (Dodge) Conley and her husband, Michael, of Portland, Robert and June Dodge of Hollis, Maine, Mike and Donna Dodge of Alabaster, Ala., and Mark and Marian Dodge of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Nov. 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland.
