WESTBROOK - Eva Spencer Giro, 97, of Westbrook passed away at the Seaside Nursing Facility on Dec. 26, 2018. She was born in Unity, Maine, Aug. 24, 1921, to Ichabord and Lizzie Spencer.

Eva graduated from Unity High School in 1938 and moved to Westbrook in 1941. She worked for the former S.D. Warren Company for 35 and a half years and retired in 1983. She was a member of the Portland Spiritualist Church.

Eva is predeceased by one sister, Priscilla; one son, Leroy; two stepsisters; and five stepbrothers. She is survived by her partner, Arnold "Budd" Howe; one son, Gerald Tucker and his wife, Marilyn of Colorado; one daughter-in-law, Betty Tucker of Gorham; one grandson, Brian Tucker and his wife, Maloti, of Casco; one granddaughter, Laurie Freudenburger and her husband, Rich, of Tenn.; five great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters; three stepsons; one niece; and one nephew.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham. To express condolences or to participate in Eva's online tribute please visit www.DolbyBlaisSegee.com
