Donald R. Libby Jr., 87

BRIDGTON - Donald R. Libby Jr., 87, of Brownfield died on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Bridgton Hospital. He was born April 18, 1931 in Old Orchard Beach, the son of Donald and Harriet (Sands) Libby, and was educated in the local school system.
Donald retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of honorable and faithful service protecting his country during the Korean War and Vietnam conflict.

He worked for the U.S. Post Office before retiring.

Donald's joy in life was spending time with family, gardening, fishing, hunting, canning. He continued his support of the military after retiring serving as State Commander of the VFW.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Teresa McCutcheon; and his son, Bruce Boisjoly.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Adams) Libby; sons: Phil Boisjoly and his wife, Michelle, Fred Libby and his wife, Beth, Frank Libby and his wife, Judy, Dannie Ross, Mark Ross, David Ross and his wife, Christine, Robert Boisjoly and his husband, Brian Clevenger; daughter, Cathy Callen and her husband, Tim; son in-law, Kevin McCutcheon; sisters in-law, Brenda Collins and her husband, Ronald, Doreen Earley and her husband, Joseph; brother in law, Gary Adams and his wife, Carole; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Hope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. To share condolences online, please visit
