Diane Christine (Milot) Nicholson, 56
DRACUT, Mass. - Diane Christine Nicholson, 56, of Dracut, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She fought a long, courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Lowell, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph Milot and Theresa Ann (Pelletier) Milot.
Diane attended Westford Academy. She married Ronald Nicholson at the age of 18 and starting working and living in the Lowell area. She enjoyed working with people.
She had been a Dracut resident for over 20 years. She was a proud president of the Long Pond Park Improvement Association, and took pride in taking care of the public beach.
She was a former communicant of St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Diane loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She had an undying love for her son, Brad Nicholson, of Dracut.
Besides her son, she is survived by her stepdaughter, Michelle Mogeilnicki, of Hudson, N.H.; sisters, Deloris Neadeau, of Lowell; and Maryanne Alhamdany, of Maine; her longtime partner, Kenny Vallios, of Dracut, and his family; Diane's extended family: son, Ryan Vallios, of Dracut; grandson, Patrick Vallios; stepmother, Eileen Ring, of Maine; extended sister, Cheryl Dumont, of Maine; extended brothers, Michael Currier of Alabama; James and Richard Currier, of Maine; Paul Hutton, of Maine; and Matthew Hutton, of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews, especially Joan Mosier.
Celebration of her life will be Thursday, May 18, from 4-8 p.m. at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford. Diane will be laid to rest with her father in Eastern Cemetery, Gorham, Maine, on Saturday, May 20. Arrangements are by
