David Parrott, 62
SCARBOROUGH - David Parrott passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 62 on Dec. 23, 2017.
He battled cancer for a number of years with courage, strength, and determination.
He was born Feb. 12, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Marietta Ann and Stephen Parrott.
David spent his early years between Sarasota, Fla., and Dover, N.H. He graduated in 1973 from Dover High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Janet Bosse. He received his degree from Andover College in computer science in 1978. That same year, David and Janet married. After spending time in Dover, they moved to Portland, where they planted roots for nearly 40 years.
David was a devoted and loving husband, father, Pepere, and provider. He was a man of great character and always had a story to tell. He was able to fix anything and loved working on home improvement projects, his yard, and garden. He enjoyed many family adventures, from visits to Portland Head Light and trips to the animal farm with his grandchildren to vacations at Disney World and Arizona, where wonderful memories were made.
David always loved going to work, and the majority of his working career was spent in sales at Brockway Smith Company and Harvey Building Products. He also spent over 10 years working as event staff for the City of Portland.
A lifelong athlete, David shared his love of sports with his two daughters and the youth of North Deering, where he coached softball and basketball for over 10 years.
He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and anyone who was fortunate to know him, especially his four grandchildren, whom he adored.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, John; in-laws, Leo and Beatrice Bosse; sister-in-law, Paula Formisano; and brothers-in-law, Donald Wilbur and Louis Westfall. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of nearly 40years, Janet; daughters, Sarah Bianculli, and her husband Richard; and Jessica Parrott, and her husband Jason Robitaille; four grandchildren, Scarlette, Richard, Delaney, and Evangeline; loyal dog, Molly; sister, Lyn Manning, and her husband Richard; brothers, Robert, and his wife Anita; and Harry, and his wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Elaine Wilbur; and Joanne Gifford and her husband Bob; brother-in-law, Roger Formisano; and several nieces and nephews.
