HOLLIS - Arthur S. Wescott Jr., 86, of Wakefield Road, passed away at his home on Jan. 11, 2019.

He was born in Buxton on Feb. 22, 1932, a child of the late Arthur Sr. and Mildred Leah (Bradeen) Wescott-Wakefield and attended the Duck Pond School in Buxton.

He proudly served his country in the Korean War in the United States Air Force. Over the years he worked for Warren's Furniture, Rogers Fibre, Yudy's Tire, and the Box Shop in Hollis.

He will always be remembered for the enjoyment he had hunting and fishing, tending to his own farm raising meat animals and dairy products, and being with his beloved family. He was a member of the American Legion in Saco, and the DAV.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn (Whitten) Wescott; children, Cynthia Foster and her husband Dennis of Hollis, Kathryn Eastman and her husband Alfred Jr. of Porter, John Wescott of Hollis, and Michael Wescott and his wife Karen of Hollis; sister, Nancy Daney of Hollis; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday Jan. 15, from 3 – 5 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m. at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd. (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Burial will be in the spring at Wakefield Cemetery in Hollis with USAF Honors. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home website, www.mainefuneral.com.
