Steven Charles Dow

GORHAM – Steven Charles Dow, 54, of Gorham passed away peacefully at the Maine Medical Center, Portland on Nov. 29, 2018 after a long illness.

Born in Baltimore, Md., on Dec. 27, 1963 to Frederick A. and Janice M. (Bragdon) Dow. When he was 11, the family moved to Gorham, where Steven attended Gorham High School. He received his diploma in 1984. He worked at Maine Medical Center for 20-plus years in the Environmental Services Department. Steven loved working at the hospital and was known by a great many people while there.

Steve loved all sports and was on a bowling league for many years with his father during which he was the 2004-2005 BCT Champ. Along with his dad, he loved stock car races at Beech Ridge Speedway where they watched his nephew, Matt Dow, race. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Annette and Maurice Bragdon; and paternal grandparents, Eva and Alton Dow.

Surviving are his sisters, Debby and husband Wesley Eye of Crescent City, Fla., Pam and husband David Martens of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Frederick (Scott) and wife Tammy Dow of Buxton; six nephews, two nieces, 11 great-nephews, 14 great-nieces, and numerous cousins.

The family wished to thank the staff at Maine Medical Center especially the staff on the P-6 floor for their outstanding care and compassion during his many stays there.
