One year she treated her three granddaughters to a trip to Germany, sharing with them some places of her childhood memories, and made some new ones. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

In July of 2018 she moved into Maple Suites Retirement home in Dover, N.H. and loved her studio apartment there. The staff treated her with respect and kindness which made her stay an enjoyable one.

Margarete was a faithful servant of Jehovah's Witnesses most of her life, first in Keene, N.H., then Brattleboro, Vt., a short spell in Florida, then in Springvale, and then lastly in Dover/Rochester, N.H. She was loved by all.
