Milasauskis Jr, 67
GORHAM - Albert W. Milasauskis, Jr., 67, of Gorham, passed away on Dec. 28, 2013 with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 12, 1946, the son of Albert W. Milasauskis, Sr. and Laurea (Cloutier) Milasauskis. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1965, attended the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham for two years and then earned his B.S. in engineering from the University of Maine in Orono in 1970.
When he was at Alonzo J. Harriman Associates during the early years of his career, Al met and married Louise Fournier of Auburn. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cared deeply about his faith, his family and his community. His family was his primary focus, but he made time to be involved with his church, the Boy Scouts and the Lions Club.
In 1980 Al became a partner at Allied Engineering and the family moved to Gorham. He formed his own corporation, AWM Engineering in 1998. Throughout his career, Al had high standards for quality designs and service to clients. He was a conscientious employer who cared deeply about his associates and employees.
He was a longtime active member of St. Anne's Church.
Al is survived by his wife of 40 years, Louise Milasauskis of Gorham; his daughter, Kelly Littlefield, husband Joshua and grandchildren Noah, Emily, Alexa and Ian of Standish and his son William Milasauskis of Gorham; his sister Brenda Rivet and husband Edward of Lewiston, sister Nancy Sherman and husband Wayne of Saco; and many cherished nieces and nephews and their spouses and children. He was predeceased by his parents, aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the relatives, friends, neighbors and associates who spent time with Al and assisted in many ways during his illness. Much gratitude goes to his medical professionals, especially Andreas Stefan who was his stalwart advocate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, at the Dolby & Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 299 Main St., Gorham. Burial will be in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston.
