GORHAM - Frank Henry Hobbs Jr., 70, of Gorham, born to the late Frank H. and Elizabeth A. Hobbs Sr., passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Gosnell Hospice House from Alzheimer's Disease, surrounded by his family.
Frank graduated from South Portland High School in 1961. He graduated from MCI, University of Maine at Orono, and New England Institute.
He was married to Bonita (Reynolds) in 1970. He was a
and later president of Hobbs Funeral Home in South Portland, retiring in 1998.
Frank was a member of the South Portland Lions Club and a trustee of the Portland Water District. He was also a member of the Purpoodock Club and Gorham Country Club. He was an avid skier and golfer. He loved collecting antiques. He was a proud two-time member of the Polar Bear Jump in Bryant Pond.
Frank is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Hobbs of Gorham; three daughters, Leanne and husband Vlad Bula of Chazy, N.Y., Betsy and husband Nils Ehnstrom of Scarborough, and Lindsey and husband Jason Oney of Falmouth; six grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew Bula, Griffin and Erik Ehnstrom, and Elliott and Nathan Oney; sister Jane Inman of Portland, and brother Jeff Hobbs of South Portland.
Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the First Congregational Church in South Portland. Arrangements are by Blais & Hay Funeral Home. On line condolences may be expressed at
