JACKMAN -- Liam Alexander Mahaney, 5, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at his family's home in Jackman.
He was born in Biddeford on Nov. 13, 2005, the son of Gary P. and Christina (Boudreau) Mahaney. He moved to Jackman with his family from Biddeford in January 2010.
Liam had an addicting laugh and shared it with his family everyday, especially sharing in the family's joke about 'stinky things.' He loved spending time with his parents and was inseparable from his younger sister and 'partner in crime' Grace, who lovingly called him 'The-Baby.' He loved watching Toy Story and rooting for his hero, Buzz Lightyear. Liam was looking forward to attending Kindergarten in the fall so he could be like the big boys.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the U.S. Border Patrol and the Jackman community for their ongoing support during such a difficult time.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Boudreau in 2011, his paternal grandmother, Joanne Mahaney in 1989, his maternal grandfather, Dominick Boudreau Sr. in 1988; and his great-aunt, Susan Lovely in 2010. Surviving are his parents, Gary and Christina Mahaney; his siblings, Preston, Grant and Grace, all of Jackman, formerly Biddeford; maternal great-grandparents, Maurice and Therese Mercier of Saco; his maternal grandfather, Normand Lamirande of Biddeford; one uncle, Dominick Boudreau of Saco, two aunts, Shari Ross of Virginia, Shannon Fleurant and her husband Brian of Biddeford; his great-aunt, Sandra Green and her husband Gary, his great- uncle, Dana Lovely, all of Cumberland; and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Biddeford.
