SCARBOROUGH -- Donald A. Trueworthy, 81, of South Portland, died peacefully at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with his family at his side. He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Bangor, the son of Walter and Margaret Trueworthy.
He and his wife Margaret were both prominent members of the First Baptist Church in Portland. Donald attended the Bangor School system and retired after many years of employment with McFarland Springs in Portland.
Donald was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Margaret Trueworthy. He is survived by his two children, Debra K. Ricci (Trueworthy) of Saco and Wayne D. Trueworthy of South Portland; five grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his four siblings, Gloria Emerton (Trueworthy) of Westbrook, twin brothers James Trueworthy of Buxton and Joseph Trueworthy of Portland as well as Dianna Rollins of Portland.
A service to celebrate the life of Donald will be held Monday, Oct. 12, at the First Baptist Church in Portland at 11 a.m. An interment will follow at Mount Pleasant in South Portland. Arrangements made by the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland.
