Michael Nicholas Moraros, 91
NORTH YARMOUTH -- Michael Nicholas Moraros, passed peacefully on July 23, 2014 with loving family by his side at home in North Yarmouth. He was 91 years old. He was born on July 17th, 1923, the son of Nicholas Michael and Helen Deligeorge Moraros. Born and raised in Nashua, N.H., he grew up in the West Pearl Street neighborhood and attended Nashua schools. During WWII he was initially trained in aircraft instrument repair becoming an instructor and later a bomber flight navigator. He was honorably discharged from the army air force leaving the service as a 2nd Lt.
Once he was out of the service, he turned his attention to family and his community. He married twice, once to Eleanor (Twardosky) (Moraros) Peters and once to Josephine (Fair) Moraros. For over 50 years Mike was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and provided leadership in AHEPA helping with the development of senior housing and running a soup kitchen. In the late 1940's he had his own tailor shop, Nashua Little Tailors and eventually retired from Nashua Corporation. After retiring he moved to Calif. He was a kind, quiet, gentle man who greatly enjoyed time with family, playing golf, traveling with his brother George and going for walks.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brother George; sister Mary (Moraros) Rotios and her husband Nick. He is survived by his son Nicholas, wife Cammy; granddaughter, Kathryn; his son Martin; grandsons, Ryan, Mike and wife Rebecca; numerous loving nieces and nephews on the west coast; Fair families and grandchildren, especially Aaron.
Visiting hours will be at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, NH on Friday, August 22 from 11a.m. - 1 p.m. A private graveside service will follow.
