Hervey J. Lizotte, 84
SANFORD -- Hervey J. Lizotte, 84, of Sanford, died on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with his family by his side.
Hervey was born on June 13, 1930, to Simone and Alice Lizotte in Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After completing his term in the military he returned to Sanford and went to work in the Goodall Mills. After the mills closed he was employed in the construction industry for several years before taking a job as a truck driver for Shaw's Supermarket. He continued driving trucks until his retirement at the age of 65.
Hervey enjoyed reading and had been a member of the Lafayette Social Club in Sanford. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was particularly fond of his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Lizotte of Sanford; four children, Pamela Gauthier and her husband Tom of Springvale, Janet Coyne of Acton, Darlene Irving and her husband Stephen of Sanford and Daniel Lizotte of Sanford; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main St., in Springvale.
