Shirley A. Morin, 66
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Shirley A. Morin, 66, long-time resident of Falls Church, Va., died on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, in Arlington, Va.
Morin was born in 1946 in Portland to Edward and Elvi Morin. She graduated from South Portland High School class of '64 and the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham (now USM) class of '68.
Until her retirement in 2012, she worked for the Transportation Research Board of The National Academies in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, she served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa.
She is survived by her mother, Elvi Morin of Portland; brother, Jeff Morin of Arlington, Va.; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She will be buried in the Finnish Cemetery in West Paris at a private service. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 64 Andrews Rd., Bryant Pond.
