Timothy Robert Keegan, 61 WELLS -- Timothy Robert Keegan, 61, passed away on Dec. 3, 2012, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He died peacefully with loving family by his side. Tim was born on March 15, 1951, in Franklin, N.H., the son of John and Ruby (Whittemore) Keegan. He graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1969. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire, Durham with a full apprentice scholarship from General Electric. On Oct. 12, 1985, he married Carmen Lauritsen. For many years Tim worked at his family's business, E.J. Keegan Hardware. He worked for General Electric and at Shape, Inc. in Biddeford. For the last 17 years he worked at Idexx Laboratories as a mechanical engineer. Tim enjoyed the outdoors and particularly hiking in the White Mountains during the summer and winter. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and driving his John Deere tractor. He loved his family and friends and especially enjoyed attending and hosting social gatherings with them. He was a 4th Degree member of the Reverend William J. Kelly Knights of Columbus Council #9782 at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary's Church, in Wells. He was also a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and a former consulting engineer for Falmouth and Gorham (Maine) High Schools' FIRST robotics competition teams. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Lauritsen-Keegan; his brothers, John D. and Barbara Keegan of Boscawen, N.H., Tom and Lucille Keegan of Bristol, N.H., and Bill and Merit Scotford-Keegan of Post Mills, Vt., his sisters, Anne and Dave Moskal of New Britain, Conn., Kathy and Paul Malsbenden of Portsmouth, N.H., Peggy and Lee Crockett of St. Louis, Mo., and Betty Healy of Portsmouth, N.H.; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Scooter. There are no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Mary's Church, Eldridge Road, Wells, on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd., Wells. www.bibberfuneral.com.
