Theresa (DiMatteo) Amadei, 91
LOGANVILLE, Ga. - Theresa (DiMatteo) Amadei, formerly of Portland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Theresa attended Cathedral High School, and remained lifelong friends with many of her classmates.
On Jan. 18, 1947, she married the love of her life, Bill Amadei. She and Bill raised three children, and they attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. After sharing a life with Theresa for 64 years, Bill passed away in 2011.
Theresa was proud of her Italian heritage, and kept it alive with her authentic Italian cooking. She shared her family recipes that will be enjoyed for years to come. She was always up for a good laugh, either when watching her favorite show, "Seinfeld," or over coffee with her longtime friend, Jean Norris.
A devoted homemaker who took pride in caring for her immediate and extended family, Theresa loved deeply, and lived fully.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Bill Amadei; and son-in-law, Ronald Perron.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Perron, of Loganville, Ga.; two sons, William Jr. and his wife, Julie Scammell, of Falmouth; and Robert and his wife, Gina, of Sydney; grandchildren, Elizabeth Amadei, of Falmouth; Jonathan Amadei, of Auburn; Stacy and her husband, Dr. Daniel Smith, of Clemson, S.C.; and Shelly and her husband, Lt. Col. Stuart Rinkleff, of Sumter, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Adam and Ansley Smith, and Sean and Syndey Rinkleff, all of whom loved their Mimi, and will miss her dearly.
She was truly a doting grandmother, and was devoted to her grandchildren.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Theresa had very special relationships with her nieces, Loretta Griffin and Priscilla Caufield, of Portland; Judy Alamprese, of Washington, D.C.; and Karen Mason, of Schenectady, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 673 Stevens Ave., Portland, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
