SACO - Steven Wiederhold, 61, of Saco, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at his home. Steve was born on Oct. 6, 1955, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Firmin "Pat" and Eldeen M. (Bauer) Wiederhold.
He was a graduate of Wahlert High School in Dubuque, Iowa; USM in Portland; and obtained his MBA in finance from Husson University.
He married his wife, Debra (Drew), in Houston, Texas, on June 25, 1988, and they settled in Saco, where they have resided for 26 years.
Steve worked in finance at Anthem, T.D. Bank, and most recently at Iberdrola, USA, in New Gloucester.
Sports was a passion that fueled Steve throughout his life. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan and loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Steve spent many years coaching in the local Maremont and Saco Little Leagues, providing instruction and encouragement to his son Brian and teammates.
Steve took great pride in his family and was a constant supporter at his children's events.
He also had a passion for working around his home, completing countless remodeling and building projects over the years.
Steve is survived by his wife Debra; his children, Sarah Wiederhold, of Lowell, Mass.; and Brian Wiederhold, of Saco; his siblings, Kathy Hannan, of Epworth, Iowa; Tom Wiederhold, of Dubuque, Iowa; and Mary (Roger) Edwards, of Madison, Wis.; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cindy Wiederhold, of Dickeyville, Wis.; Diane Dore, of Seabrook, N.H.; Scott (Pat) Drew, of Amesbury, Mass.; and Cheryl (Chuck) Goodwin, of Amesbury, Mass.; plus several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by parents Firmin "Pat" and Eldeen Wiederhold, brother Jerry Wiederhold, mother-in-law and father-in-law Charlotte and Everett Drew, and brother-in-law Bob Dore.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes to Hospice of Southern Maine who provided truly meaningful hugs and caring support as our world was turned upside down; for you we will be eternally grateful.
