ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Ruth A. (Dore) Mountfort, 95, a long-time resident of Nashua, N.H., passed away at home on Aug. 7, 2013, in St. Louis, Mo.
The middle daughter of J. Leonard and Etta May (Larrabee) Dore, Mrs. Mountfort was born on July 29, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., went to school in a one-room schoolhouse in Vermont and graduated from Portland High School.
Mrs. Mountfort was a librarian with both the Nashua and Melrose public libraries. She was also a teacher for the Winter Garden Kindergarten for many years.
Mrs. Mountfort was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua where she was a member of the Altar Guild and a Sunday School teacher.
She was the widow of Stanley D. Mountfort. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and S. Narayan Bodapati of St. Louis, Mo.
A funeral service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St., Nashua, on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment prayers and burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland.
