Ronald C. Church, 65
SCARBOROUGH -- Ronald C. Church, 65, of Portland, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Gosnell House surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was born in Portland on May 20, 1947, the son of Charles K. and Rita C. Legasse Church. Ronald graduated from Portland High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Navy. After serving our country, Ronald worked in several greater Portland machine shops including 25 years at Hill Loma in Gorham. He enjoyed softball, bowling, camping, hunting, and was an avid golfer. In later years, he enjoyed electronics and video games which became his passion. He made several friends on line in the gaming community.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Donna (Quatrano) Church of Portland; daughter Jennifer C. Waitkun and husband Peter C. Waitkun, daughter Jonica L. Church; loving sister-in-law Dolores Hogle and her husband Robert Hogle; many nieces and nephews and family in Rhode Island; and cousin Robert Abbruzesse and wife Elizabeth.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., in the Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St., Portland. On line condolences can be made to the family at
