Richard Lee "Tiny" Moulton, 53
SCARBOROUGH - Richard Lee "Tiny" Moulton, of Payne Road, Scarborough, died at his residence on Aug. 5, 2017.
Richard was born on Feb. 16, 1964, in Portland, to Everett and Zola Faye (Barbour) Moulton. He attended Scarborough schools, graduating from Scarborough High School.
Over the years, Richard was employed as a truck driver for companies including Pleasant Hill Towing, William Lavigne Excavation, Maietta Construction, Sam Prower Transportation and RC Moore Transportation, along with dispatching for Troiano Waste Company and residential snow plowing. He loved boating, motorcycling, four-wheeling, and modified racing at Beach Ridge Speedway. He was constantly repeating quotes from his favorite movie, "Smokey and the Bandit."
A member of the Standish and Gorham ATV clubs, Richard was also affiliated with the Buxton ATV Club, the Scarborough Fire Department, and most recently with the Scarborough Fire/Police Unit. Tiny was a big man with a huge heart who stayed deeply connected with his family, friends, and community and was always one to help anyone that needed it.
Predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, G. Howard Merrill; sister, Cheryl Faye Wheeler; and niece, Debbie Lynn Wheeler; Richard is survived by his brothers, Everett M. Moulton and his wife Donna, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and Robert A. Moulton and his wife Susan, of Gray; as well as nephews, Jeffrey and Scott Moulton, Eric Wheeler, and Jonathan and Christopher Moulton; and niece, Karen Witherbee. He also leaves several cousins, as well as a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at
Hobbs Funeral Home,
671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at Hobbs Funeral Home, Scarborough. Interment will take place at Dunstan Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.
