Michael Dean Gregoire, 64
SOUTH PORTLAND - Michael Dean Gregoire, 64, of South Portland, passed away July 1, 2017.
Michael was born at Fort Benning, Ga., Aug. 15, 1952, the son of Wilfred and Margaret Gregoire, the youngest of three siblings.
Mike served as a Marine corporal for four years in the 1960s, including a tour in Vietnam, and later stationed in the Philippines.
After his discharge, he was employed at Bath Iron Works and then Brunswick Naval Air Station for 25 years until his retirement in 2011. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending his time at camp Down East. He loved feeding the robins that visited his house each day. He also enjoyed playing drums.
He is survived by his sister, Donna Brown, of Willow Spring, N.C.; his brother, Stephen Gregoire, of Tampa, Fla.; his nephews, Ryan Masterman, of Maine; and Justin Masterman and Adam Brown, of N.C.; his niece, Meg Gregoire, of Florida; and several cousins.
Visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday, July 12, from 10-11 a.m. at the
Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel,
498 Long Plains Rd. (Route 22), in Buxton. A committal service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, with USMC honors. Share online condolence messages at: www.mainefuneral.com.
