Miriam Moulton Beam, 91
SCARBOROUGH - Miriam Moulton Beam, 91, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2017, at Piper Shores, her home since 2001. The daughter of Harry W. Moulton and Mildred Miller Moulton, she was born on Oct. 29, 1926, in Boston, Mass., and grew up in Winchester. She graduated from the Oak Grove School, Vassalboro, Maine, and the Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston.
In July 1945, Miriam married Max W. Beam, who predeceased her in 2015. They lived in the Boston area for many years before moving to Chicago in 1967. With Max's retirement in 1986, the two chose to live in Maine, a favorite vacation spot, where Miriam had family and high school roots.
Miriam enjoyed travel, gardening, cooking, needlepoint, and time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Beam, of Cos Cob, Conn.; a granddaughter, Heather Moulton Warner; and two great-grandchildren, Nell Beam Warner and Max Thomas Warner of Silver Spring, Md.
The family is profoundly grateful for the loving care of the wonderful caregivers at Holbrook where she lived the last years of her life. In accordance with her wishes, services will be private. She will be buried next to her husband in the St. Mary's memorial garden in Falmouth, Maine.
