Leo Paul Moulin, 94
BIDDEFORD - Leo Paul Moulin, 94, of Biddeford, died peacefully Sept. 2, 2017, surrounded by loved ones, at the Gosnell Memorial Hos-pice House in Scarborough.
Paul was born on March 5, 1923, in Biddeford, to Alfred and Odina (St. Louis) Moulin. He was educated locally, graduating from St. Louis High School in the Class of 1942. He enlisted in the Navy and served as a baker aboard the USS Altair in the Pacific.
On July 1, 1950, he married Alberta (Bertha) Marie Caouette, in St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford.
Paul worked at the Saco-Lowell shops from the time of his Naval discharge until he retired in 1986. After retirement, he was a valued member of the Hope Memorial Chapel part-time staff.
Family was important to Paul. He opened his heart to the in-laws, welcoming them as his own. His grandchildren meant everything to him. He was oftentimes seen strolling the streets of Biddeford, pushing Marissa in her stroller and enjoyed taking the granddaughters on shopping trips to the Mall.
He was frequently seen at the grandchildren's performances from dance recitals to plays, proud to be a part of their lives. His daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, recalls many a Sunday afternoon playing cards at his home, more often than not, losing at double pinochle to Paul.
Paul was an avid stamp collector. He and his wife Bertha were members of the Stamp Club of Sanford. He also enjoyed collecting coins; playing all kinds of card games, especially cribbage with family members; and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Preceding Paul in death were Alberta (Bertha) Moulin, his wife of 44 years; and sisters, Aline Provencher and Germaine Landry.
Paul is survived by two sons, Roland Moulin, and his wife Elizabeth, of Dunedin, Fla.; and Robert Moulin, and his wife Beckie, of Biddeford; two daughters, Rachel Moulin, of Biddeford; and Rejeanne Simoneau, and her husband Mark, of Biddeford; one sister, Lucille Lafortune, of Saco; and four grandchildren: Thomas Moulin, Tim Robinson, Jennifer Moulin, and Marissa Simoneau.
The family would like to thank the staff members of the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their support and kindness at the end of his life.
Visiting hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. Joseph's Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
