Julie A. Pompeo, 42
BUXTON -- Julie A. Pompeo, 42, of Buxton, passed away on Nov. 27, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Portland on June 4, 1970, the daughter of Peter A. Pompeo Sr. and Carolyn Pompeo (O'Brien).
She grew up locally, graduating from McAuley High School in 1988. Julie worked for many years with FairPoint as a Directory Assistant as well as with the family owned businesses, O'Brien Brothers, Inc. and Pompeo Sand & Gravel.
A special thank you is extended to Julie's doctor, Dr. Roger Inhorn, her nurse Carolyn and all the hematology / oncology staff at Mercy Hospital and the VNA Hospice staff. Thank you as well to all of Julie's family and friends who helped care for her during her illness.
Julie is survived by her son, Peter Pompeo of Buxton; her father, Peter A. Pompeo Sr. of Portland, her mother and step-father, Carolyn and Donald O'Brien of Buxton; her brothers, Peter A. Pompeo Jr. of Windham and John Pompeo of Buxton; as well as her nieces and nephews, Myles, John, Alexis, Ella, Rocco, Dominic and Hannah. She is also survived by her grandmother, Deneige Pompeo of Portland.
Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, from 6-8 p.m., at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 72 Federal St., Portland.
