Joyce B. Taylor, 85
KENNEBUNK - Joyce B. Taylor, 85, of Kennebunk, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
She was born in Presque Isle on June 13, 1927, the daughter of William Belmain and Nellie Walton Belmain. She was a resident of North Berwick for nearly 50 years before moving to Scarborough in 1999.
Joyce was a graduate of Thornton Academy in Saco and attended hairdressing school in Boston with her niece and best friend, Irene Brewer Sweet.
She also held a Real Estate License and worked for many years in the banking industry and finally at the credit union at Pratt-Whitney. Years later she would still recognize people she had assisted and was always happy to catch up. Joyce was outgoing, feisty and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Upon retiring in the mid-1980's she and her husband, Richard, enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. She was an amazing seamstress and knitter and loved nothing more than getting together with her family.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, on April 14, 2012. In, addition she was predeceased by her parents; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son, Steven, and his wife Diana (Roak); and their daughter Megan of South Portland. She is also survived by a daughter, Ann Taylor, and her husband, Kevin Davis of Dover; and their daughter Melissa Ciotti of Exeter.
Our thanks to the caregivers at Bradford at Huntington Common for their kindness and compassion.
