SANFORD -- Jeannette D. Girard, 100, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Newton Center in Sanford.
She was born in Trois Pistoles, Canada on Aug. 31, 1912, the daughter of the late Joseph and Apauline (Parent) Dumont.
For many years she was employed in the local textile mills and was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Parish.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn Frevele, Lillian Couture, Louise Vallee, Yvonne Dumont, Marian Dumont, Arsene Dumont, Louis Dumont, Paul Dumont, Maurice Dumont, Andre Dumont, George Dumont, Joseph Dumont, Omer Dumont, Conrad Dumont and Raymond Dumont. She is survived by one sister, Simone Fortier of Sanford; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m., at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Relatives and friends are invited to visit beginning at 9 until 9:45 a.m. at the Lafrance- Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. Burial will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
