Jeanne Marie Brillant, 78
TOPSHAM - Jeanne Marie Brillant, 78, of Topsham died suddenly Thursday evening, June 15, 2017, at home on Madelyn Avenue.
On Wednes-day, she and her husband, Robert F. Brillant, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a dinner with more than 40 family members and close friends. Jeanne and Bob were married Aug. 31, 1957.
Jeanne was a 1957 graduate of Brunswick High School, and was the daughter of Madelyn (Fortin) and Andre Ouellette. While raising her family, she worked in the kitchens of Williams-Cone Elementary School and Mt. Ararat School in Topsham. She also had a successful business teaching ceramics under the name "Mme JB's" for more than 20 years. She was also bookkeeper for Bob's carpentry and house-building businesses; Jeanne Street in Topsham, where they built most of their houses, was named for her.
She was a volunteer for and past president of the Friends of Parkview Hospital Auxiliary, and organized book sales in the early days of St. John's Bazaar. She was also a very happy fan of the New England Patriots and the NFL.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Bob; her four children, Therese of Topsham, Jeanne and husband Jeff Beebe of Fresno Calif., Elaine and husband Michael Taylor of Topsham, and William and husband Douglas Antreassian of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Adam Beebe, Scott Beebe, Stephanie (Taylor) Goulette, Michael Taylor, and their spouses, and Sarah Taylor; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Constance LeBel of Swampscott, Mass., and Anne Livernois of Virginia Beach, Va., and a brother, Andre Ouellette of Irvine, Calif.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish, Pleasant St., Brunswick. Burial in St. John's Cemetery will be held at a later date.
