Gladys B. Pettersen, 81

OLD ORCHARD BEACH - Gladys B. Pettersen, 81, formerly of Wild Dunes Ways, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at the Springbrook Nursing Facility.

She was born Jan. 26, 1936, in South Portland, the daughter of Arthur and Ida Darling Moran.

She attended South Portland High School and then worked for many years in the housekeeping department for the Osteopathic Hospital in Portland.

Gladys enjoyed camping, dancing, time with friends and family. She lived for over two years in Norway and was proud to learn to speak Norwegian.

Gladys was predeceased by a brother, PFC 1st class U.S. Marine Roscoe Moran; and her former husband, Tor Pettersen.

She is survived by three sons, Carl Pettersen, and wife Diane, of Randolph, Vt.; Steven Pettersen, and wife Cindy, of Limerick; and Todd Pettersen, and wife Paula, of Standish; three daughters, Torry DiDonato, and husband Joseph, of Kennebunkport; Gwen Estes, and husband Don, of Buxton; and Donna Chapman, of Windham; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives may call Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, from 11 a.m.-noon at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 13 Portland Rd., Bar Mills (Buxton).
