YARMOUTH - Evelyn Lucy "Evie" (Jacklin) Stoddard, 85, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2018, four days shy of her 86th birthday. Evie was born in Yarmouth, on March 8, 1932, the daughter of William and Lucy (Ruby) Jacklin.
Evie was a lifelong resident of Yarmouth, attending North Yarmouth Academy, Class of 1950. In 1954, Evie married Lawrence Stoddard and raised their family on West Elm Street, where Evie lived until she fell ill in 2015. Evie found the job she loved at L.L.Bean, spending 28 years there before she retired.
Evie was very spiritual and had a strong faith in God. She loved reading the Bible, playing cards with her sister and friends, and eating ice cream at Martel's in Saco. Besides the Lord, Evie had a very deep love for her children, grandchildren and her friends.
Evie is survived by her son, Craig, and his wife, Janet, of Greenville; her daughter, Mary Curit, of Richmond; her grandchildren, Linan and her husband, Steve Cicerchia, of Warwick, R.I.; Jacob and his wife, Ashley Stoddard, of Raymond; and Bryan Curit and Rhonda Fitzmaurice of Lisbon; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Noah; her brother, William Jacklin; her half sister, Marion Howland; her dearest friend, Judy Swanson; and several nieces and nephews.
