GORHAM -- Donald (Don) G. Levesque, 61, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at home on Sept. 25, 2013.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1951, in Lewiston, to Henri and Berthe Levesque and attended Lewiston schools. Immediately upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a torpedoman's mate in Pearl Harbor until July 1973.
On Jan. 22, 1971, he married his wife of 42 years, Linda. Upon their return to Maine, Don attended the University of Southern Maine, graduating with an Associate's degree in Accounting in 1975. He worked various jobs until becoming a Master Plumber and establishing Levesque Plumbing in 1982. Upon retirement from plumbing he semi-retired into the home inspection field with his business Casco Bay Home Inspections. He fully retired in 2005.
Don was an avid Boston sports fan, passionately following the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox as the seasons changed. He shared his passion for sports with his two children Jeanne and Jeff who would eagerly discuss the latest game with him. Don was a keen music fan, especially of classic hard rock and also passed his love of music onto his children. He also enjoyed long rides and vacation adventures on his Harley with his wife and friends. He had an off-beat sense of humor that was passed along to his children and will always be remembered for. The family has many inside jokes that will never be forgotten.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Henri and Berthe Levesque. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda; and his two children Jeanne and Jeff.
Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., at Jones, Rich, and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A luncheon will follow at the Italian Heritage Center, 40 Westland Ave., Portland. Interment will be private at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
