Carl was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Kingfield, and was the son of the late Carl Geyer Sr., of Bristol, and Gwendolyn (Atwood) Geyer, also of Kingfield. He grew up in Kingfield until the age of 7, moving to Falmouth where he attended Falmouth schools until the time of his deployment into the U.S. Navy in 1951 until 1955. In the Navy, he was a gunner's mate on three different minesweepers during the Korean War.
In 1960, Carl married his late wife of 57 years, Marilyn Patnaude. Carl and Marilyn resided in Pine Point, moving to Buxton in 1987.
Following his honorable dis-charge, Carl spent two years in Philadelphia, returning to Maine in 1957, where he worked for Merrill Transport Company driving oil trucks until 1963. Carl went to work at B&M Baked Beans, where he left to work at Shaw's Supermarkets, retiring in 1996 following 30 years of service.
Carl had many hobbies: hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR on Sunday afternoons, camping, and playing cards. One of Carl's favorite camping spots was Lily Bay State Park in Greeneville. Carl spent many winters with his wife, Marilyn, camping in different parts of Florida, where they made several friends.
