Capt. Dean M. Cressey, 65

WESTBROOK - Capt. Dean M. Cressey passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

He was born July 17, 1952, in Portland, the son of Clarence and Janet (Merritt) Cressey. Dean spent 30 years working for the Portland Fire Department, retiring as a captain from the Munjoy Hill Station.

Apart from the fire department, Dean enjoyed being around his family and spending time with them as often as he could.

He is survived by his daughter, Kendalee Farris, of Falmouth, and her two daughters, Ella and Addison Farris, of Falmouth; also his son, Derek Cressey, and his wife Erica Christiansen Cressey, and their two sons, Brecken and Kellan Cressey, all of Windham; and also by his dear friend, Leslie "Lucy" Long.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, from 1-4 p.m. at A. T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland.
