Barbara Jean (Kimball) Healy, 70
ACTON - Barbara Jean (Kimball) Healy, 70, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Acton, passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, 2017, at her summer home, following her recent battle with cancer.
Barb was born on Sept. 26, 1947, in Bellows Falls, Vt., the daughter of Juanita and Frank Kimball, and was a graduate of McMurray College, Jacksonville, Ill., in 1969.
She married her husband, Richard K. Healy, on July 11, 1970, and they began their lives together, residing first in Connecticut for 12 years -- where she was a teacher in Newtown, Conn., schools during the 1970s -- before moving to Kennebunk for 33 years, raising their family and enjoying life the way it should be, with friends.
In Maine, Barb pursued a career in real estate for 17 years, was an avid reader who loved a good book, and a card player who loved a good game of bridge. A beach, a pool, and Mousam Lake on a sunny day were all made for her to enjoy.
Barb was predeceased by her father, Frank Morrill Kimball.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her daughter, Allison Stevens, of Kennebunk, and hus-band Randy; her son, Christopher Healy, of East Hampton, Conn., and wife Karen; four grandchildren, Andrew Stevens, Madison Stevens, Michaela Healy and Danielle Healy; her mother, Juanita (Hinds) Kimball, of Keene, N.H.; and her sister, Diane Ackley of Merrimack, N.H.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, followed by a memorial service celebrating Barb's life at 11 a.m. Friday, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., in Kennebunk. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
