She married her childhood sweetheart, Everett Butts; they were married 62 years before his passing. She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Butts; and her five siblings.

She was a homemaker all her life, raising her children, including one with disabilities. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family.

She enjoyed going to cookouts, dining out, and shopping. She was known for her amazing apple pies and tapioca pudding. She always had a positive outlook on life, and loved to be with people. Arlene was also a member of the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Joe's and to Beacon Hospice for all their compassionate care.
