Wesley Allen Fraser
SCARBOROUGH -- Wesley Allen Fraser died at Piper Shores in Scarborough on Dec. 30, 2012. Mr. Fraser was born in Redwood Falls, Minn., on May 21, 1926. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Military Police in Luxemburg during his time overseas. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1948 and married Ruth Steinberg on Oct. 14, 1950.
With their nine month old daughter, the family moved to Dallas, Texas in August 1952 when Wes was transferred to head the F. W. Dodge office of McGraw-Hill. Three sons and another daughter later, the family moved to Woodcliff Lake, N.J., in 1966 when Wes received a promotion within McGraw-Hill. He retired as a Vice-President of McGraw-Hill in 1986. A year later, he and his wife moved to Biddeford Pool where they lived happily for 17 years. Wes and Ruth then moved to Piper Shores; Ruth died on Oct. 18, 2009.
Wes was always an active member of the various Lutheran churches he belonged to over the years, serving as president of at least three different churches. Through the loss of his wife and to his last day on earth, his faith sustained him.
He is survived by five children and six grandchildren, who will miss him deeply.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to
