Albert E. Moulton, 86
YORK -- Albert E. Moulton, 86, of Fieldstone Estates Road, died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in York Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on Nov. 27, 1926, in Kittery, the son of the late Albert and Lucy (Fernald) Moulton. He was a graduate of Traip Academy and Becker Jr. College. He was also a graduate of the FBI National Academy with the last class under J. Edgar Hoover.
He served as Chief of Police for the York Police Dept. from 1966 to 1976. He co-owned with his father, Moulton Engineering Co., and was employed by Cianbro Construction retiring in 1991. He again retired this past November from Eldredge Lumber.
He was a life-member of the Boardman-Ellis V.F.W. Post 6977, former Maine State Commander, and was serving on many state and local Finance Committees. His wife of 56 years, Ursula M. (Rolfe) Moulton died in 2010. He leaves a son, Bryan E. Moulton and his wife Karla of Burnsville, Minn., four daughters, Lynne M. Moulton of York, Diane M. Taylor of York, Suzanne M. Moulton of Portsmouth, N.H., and Mimi M. Stevens and her husband Gary of York; and 10 grandchildren, Richard, Melanie, Jared, Samantha, Molly, Julie, Robert, Joseph, Kaitlin and Zoey. His son-in-law, Richard F. 'Butch' Taylor predeceased him. He also leaves behind his many friends from 'coffee time' at Rick's All Seasons Restaurant.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York. A funeral home service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. Burial will be held at a later date in the First Parish Cemetery. Visit
