Justin Stafford Yarrington, 39
UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- Justin S. Yarrington, 39, of University City, Mo., passed away suddenly on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013.
He was born in Portland on Oct. 30, 1973, the son of Paul S. Yarrington and the late Katherine Rowe Mcintire. He graduated from Gateway High School in 1991. He then attended Penn State University and spent a short period of time in the Army Reserve.
Justin started his cooking career at his grandmother's side, the late Virginia Mcintire when he was 10. He worked at his passion, cooking, from Maine to Seattle, Napa Valley, Peaks Island, and Derry, N.H. He settled in St. Louis with Holiday Retirement as a chef and then the regional chef for 13 units in three states.
Justin's true dream was to open and cook in his own restaurant. He was well on his way as the grand opening of 'Tenacious Eats,' an interactive Food and Film Venture, was scheduled for a late October opening. Justin, as Chef De Cuisine and his partner, Chef Elizabeth Schuster have been working steadfast over the past year to make this dream a reality.
Justin loved his wife, children, family, friends, and cooking at home. Some of his fondest childhood memories were at Turner Pond in Jackman.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Quincy and Oliver; his father, Paul Yarrington and wife Diane; his brother, Jason Yarrington and wife Tina, and his sister, Jill Connors and husband Robb.
A memorial service was held on Aug. 30, in St. Louis, Mo. A private burial service is planned for Sept. 14, at Brooklawn Cemetery in Portland. On-line condolences can be given to the family at www.jonesrichandhutchins.com.Jones, Rich & Hutchins
